Taking time to come up with some ground rules for P4C is so important. Ask your class:
How should we try to be during P4C?
Let’s have a think about the 4Cs – what suggestions do you have about how we can behave and speak and think together to help us get really good at the 4Cs?
Don’t rush this – the more your class feel they own their ground rules, the more they will adhere to them. And, importantly, the more they will encourage their classmates to stick to them!
Keep the rules somewhere handy – perhaps in your P4C tray – and get them out for every P4C enquiry. Review them and revise them to keep them fresh and in everyone’s minds.
