I highly recommend seeing the newly-released Young Plato documentary movie – out now in cinemas. It’s a moving, uncompromising film about a school in Northern Ireland which has decided to put philosophy on the curriculum and at the heart of its approach to pastoral care.
One of the most thought-provoking moments in the film is when the children are directly encouraged to question their parents’ views. There’s also some interesting footage of children using a ‘Philosophy Wall’ to extend reflection on their own behaviour choices (instead of detention!)
“This film is about using philosophy to promote mental health and wellbeing”

Amongst other venues, you can see Young Plato at Home, Manchester, UK, on Tuesday 12th April 2022 at 6pm (booking info).
